About the CCN Pro program

The California Certified Nursery Professional (CCN Pro) examination is the first step towards attaining certification as a nursery professional in California. The California Certified Nursery Professional (CCN Pro) Program certifies that all individuals successfully completing this exam have demonstrated a wide variety of horticultural knowledge and skills to competently service nursery and garden center customers. The knowledge gained while simply studying for this exam is an invaluable tool during the individual's daily contact with nursery customers - and that, in turn, benefits the employer.

The knowledgeable nursery professional is a valuable asset to any nursery and recognizing his or her horticultural abilities and skills is what the CCN Pro Program is all about. Those who pass the examination earn the privilege and honor to be a CCN Pro under the auspices of the California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers.

The advanced certification exams are held twice a year in February and July. Locations are in northern and southern California. Advanced exams are given in conjunction with the initial certification exams. Dates, locations and times are posted on this website approximately three months in advance.
