Types of Membership

California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers

Regular Member: Any individual, partnership or corporation engaged in a wholesale or retail nursery business in the State of California. 

Associate Member: Any individual, partnership or corporation engaged in a business related to horticulture other than the nursery business, including the growing of bulbs, seeds or turf sod or the provision of non-plant products and services, or if a landscape contractor or maintenance company or landscape architect shall be eligible for an Associate Membership.  

Affiliate Member: Any individual employed in any capacity by any Regular or Associate Member firm in good standing shall be eligible for an Affiliate Membership. 

Out-of-State Membership:  Any individual, partnership or corporation owning or operating a nursery business or a business allied to horticulture outside of the State of California shall be eligible for Out-of-State Membership. Out-of-State Regular members with operations in the State of California pay dues on the total dollar volume of business done in California. All other Out-of-State Regular Members are subject to pay the current out-of-state dues. Associate Members are subject to pay on the current associate dues schedule whether based in or out of California. 

Education/Research/Garden Writer Membership: Any individual rendering a service to the nursery industry in the field of horticultural education or research or in the profession of garden writer shall be eligible for Education/Research/Garden Writer Membership. Candidates include but are not limited to horticultural instructors, extension personnel, botanic garden personnel, research workers and nursery industry regulatory personnel. Employment verification may be required as a condition of this membership.  

CCN Pro™ Membership: Any individual who is employed in any capacity by any Regular or Associate Member in good standing and who is an active CCN Pro™ through maintenance of the certification status as required by the CCN Pro™ Board shall be eligible for a CCN Pro™ Membership.  CCN Pros™ employed by a non-member firm may apply for this membership category and receive a limited number of benefits. Active CCN Pro™ Status is required.  

Student Membership: Student Membership shall be available to any student enrolled in high school or in a two or four year post-high school institution – proof of enrollment is required.    

College/University Nursery Membership: Any two or four year college/university that offers education in the field of horticulture and maintains a nursery operation on its campus, either grower or retail, can apply for this membership.

Allied Membership: Allied Membership shall be available to any trade organization or other association that has interests in common with the California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers if closer cooperation could lead to mutual advantages.  

International Membership: Any individual, partnership or corporation owning or operating a nursery business or a business allied to horticulture outside of the United States shall be eligible for International Membership. International Regular members with operations in the state of California pay dues on the total dollar volume of business done in California. All other International Regular Members must pay the then-current International dues. This class of membership does include firms based in Canada or Mexico.
