This is the most current information avalible from CANGC. A 2012 report will be avalible in the future.

The Economic Report is published by the Association on an annual basis.  Retired professor of U.C. Davis, Hoy Carmen, researches the information and updates the statistics on behalf of the association.

California’s nursery and floral industry has exhibited rather constant and substantial growth over the past two decades, in spite of major challenges in the form of shipping restrictions due to pests and diseases (glassy-winged sharpshooter and Phytophthora ramorum), increased competition from imported flowers, the impact of increased energy costs on production and transportation, limited and expensive water supplies, weather and declining new home sales.  California’s estimated cash receipts from floriculture and nursery crop production increased from $1.93 billion in 1992 to over $4.08 billion by 2007.  Many observers are surprised to learn that nursery crops and floral crops each typically rank within the top ten California crops, and when combined, nursery and floral sales rank in the top two crops, exceeded only by milk and cream sales.

Below is the Summary Version of the Economic Report and the Full Economic Report as produced by Hoy Carmen.
